Aqua Aura
Artist Biography
The artist, after studying at the Art School, graduated in painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan with a study and a thesis entitled Anselm Kiefer. The other Baroque: a look at contemporary German expressionism. In 2009, after a long break taken precisely to distance himself from the frenetic doctrine of contemporary art, he returned to the concrete terrain of work and experimentation and was reborn in the guise of Aqua Aura.
During the years of his estrangement, traveling a lot, he enriched his baggage of images, coming to think about the infinite possibilities of art. Always in search of the Sublime in our era, he creates works that require a specific and direct involvement of the spectator.
His training path has continued over time, taking on various forms: living the great spaces of nature, or traveling and visiting art museums and scientific research laboratories, enriching his investigations in studies on astronomical physics, particle physics, biogenetics, philosophy and the psychology of perception. In particular, he establishes a relationship of collaboration and exchange with the AriSLA Foundation (Italian Research Foundation for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), deepening the study on the genesis and development of scientific images. In recent years his language has moved mainly in the field of photography and digital art. He has exhibited in many institutions, galleries and museums at an international level, in cities such as Berlin, Istanbul, Barcelona, Maastricht, Helsinki and has participated in numerous art fairs in Italy and Europe.
The latest developments in his work have led him, in addition to the photographic medium, towards new languages, through the creation of short films, documentary films and video-art works, until arriving at installation and video-sculptural projects. These works, which at first glance may appear perfect from an aesthetic point of view, far from the reality of man are, instead, – after an in-depth analysis – what most internally belongs to him, to his being and his past. A continuous fusion and overlapping of the images accumulated in previous years give life to new landscapes and new worlds.
He participates in numerous conventions and conferences aimed at contemporary art and scientific research in general, as a speaker. He holds lessons on photography and contemporary art at private schools and foundations. After living and working between Milan and Akureyri (Iceland), he settled permanently in Milan in 2016.

Marina Vargas
Artist Biography
Marina Rodríguez Vargas (Granada, 1980). Known as Marina Vargas, she is a multidisciplinary Spanish artist. Her artistic language focuses on classical iconography, the sacred, mythology, creating replicas in monumental formats under a committed feminist gaze that permeates all her work.
The realization of her projects is preceded by long periods of study, research and specialized reading on the themes of the history she deals with. The artist creates her work, inserted in the neo-baroque, with a careful staging. In her works there are constant dialogues around the ideas of the Judeo-Christian religious idolatries of the West, sexuality, femininity, violence, love and desire; a work full of drama, brutality and combined beauty. Thus we find works in which the revisionist symbolism of contemporary identities reigns, creating a new model of hybrid and monstrous beauty that has completely forgotten the silence of the classical canon.
In 2015, in a large solo exhibition at the Museo Arte Contemporáneo, the CAC in Malaga, she presented an exhibition entitled Destripando el canon (Unravelling the canon). In 2017, she presented the exhibition Las líneas del destino at the Museo ABC in Madrid, having been selected for the Conexiones program, promoted by the Banco Santander Foundation in collaboration with the museum specializing in drawing and works on paper, the Museo ABC. In December 2020, she held her first solo exhibition at the Llamazares Galería, with which she also participated in fairs such as Estampa 2021, where she received the DKV award. In 2023, she received the First Photography Prize from the Enaire Foundation.
Her work has been presented in several international contemporary art fairs, such as Arco España, Zona Maco (Mexico DF), Cosmoscow Art fair or Artinternational Istanbul and La Feria Internacional Arte Santander, among others.
